Jello Jigglers

Ben and I made jello jigglers tonight. SO FUN!!! We cut out "CHENEY" with a "temple" underneath it to celebrate our 2 weeks till I get to be MRS. CHENEY!!!

24th of July

Ben and I spent the afternoon celebrating the Utah Pioneers. In the afternoon we went to a celebration in Provo with our friend Willie. It was really hot, so we ducked into the museum to feel the air conditionar. We all tried our luck at ringing cattle made out of haystacks and ran by the missionaries. Ben and Willie tried hiding from me in a TeePee (how should that be spelled?).

Dinner with President Jacobsen

Last sunday Ben and I ate dinner with his mission president- President Jacobsen. Ben brought his own ping pong paddle from home to challenge his president. It was so fun to watch them both be so competitive in their white shirts and ties.

4th of July

4th of July we spent the day in the most northern part of Utah. Bear lake is where Ben's roommate has a boat and cabin. We tubed and had a great time enjoying the shallow beach where we spent most of the morning. Ben is the greatest tuber ever!

visit to cali

I got to go to six flags with Danielle for her birthday. Susie and Steffi were here from Germany. It was a lot of fun! I especially enjoyed the bridal shower and swimming with my nieces and nephew! Time with my mom, dad and family is something I truely enjoy!

Grillin' and Chillin'

We had a going away/wedding celebration party/bbq last week. We overestimated the hotdogs and hamburgers, but it was still a blast. We had a lot of friends come we haven't seen in a while. One suprise was one of Ben's Bishops from England who now lives in Utah. He and his family came! We had a great time!

Roommate Wedding

My roommate for the past year just got married last week. She was a gorgeous bride and Joyce, Ben and I had quite the adventurous day! Her reception was up near the mountain at the La Caille.

The awkward shot

So, believe it or not, Ben and I had a horrible time getting this shot right... and we actually never did. I just wanted to blog about it. So our two cute photographers tried to explain this shot to us before we shot it. We had no idea what they were talking about so they demonstrated on each other. It was hilarious because one of the girls is 8 months pregnant so her belly was in the way of the pose... hilarious! So then I tried getting the shot right by practicing with the pregnant photographer. Needless to say, we are laughing so much here because we felt so awkward... but it was so fun. Our photographers were so fun to work with and we had a fun time!

Mine are the blue hydrangeas and the girls get white (while wearing light blue dresses).

Wedding flowers

So- the table flowers have changed. Tall blue and short white are the new thing. The pictured flowers aren't available in August. Who knew that from june to august flowers would change... not me.

Family History in Nebraska

While traveling through nebraska I called dad's aunt Jean (Myrtle's sister) and asked if she knew of anyone who lived in Nebraska still and she said, "yes, Uncle Dwayne". I called him and got a hold of his wife Julia. I was a half hour away from where she lived so she said, "come on over". The rest is history! They opened their doors to Ben and I and then drove us around town. I am compiling a project of pictures and stories to be sent to everyone... but in the mean time here are some pictures. (I don't know why this text is made to look like it links to something.. I will have to fix that later)

Happy 3 months!

Supprise!! Ben and I have been dating 3 months and he is amazing at remembering month-versaries. He is amazing! The night before he worked it out with my roommate and stole my keys while I was sleeping to put 90 sticky notes for 90 days of dating in my car. The pictures aren't what it actually looked like, we had to reinact it because that next morning I had to pull them down in a hurry, because I was almost late for work. Later that night I had made dinner and we took it on a picnic in the canyon (it had snowed). I only forgot the forks and the plates, no big deal! Haha.. I made porkchops, biscuits, salad - dessert were banana cream pie pudding cups and to drink little bottles of Martinellis apple cider. It was so fun!

Mission Reunion!

Last saturday night I got to participate in the making of empanadas and preparing for our mission reunion. It's been 2 years since I have been home, so a lot of the sisters I had never met before were there. It was fun to see our friend Ani from Argentina here in the states getting ready to swim for BYU. Ben even tried Mate and had some empanadas with the rest of us wanna-be argentines.

Thanks to Ben's Dad

We went to General Conference this past weekend. Ben's Dad sent us the tickets (which are hard to come by even though they are free- thank you Brother Cheney). We had a great time watching teh saturday morning session with Ganel, Rob and the kids. We went to the saturday afternoon session and enjoyed the great weather outside. Sunday we watched the morning session at my apartment with my roommate Joyce and then the afternoon session with Danielle and Matt at their house- with the ginormous TV. I was locked out of my apartment after that, so we went to the park for a while and had a great time enjoying the sun.

Festival of Colors...my hair is still pink

This is one of the craziest festivals I have ever been to. It was at the Hare Krishna Temple (reminded me a lot of Yuba City Punjabis). Everyone from everywhere comes to the festival to celebrate with these kind people. The deal is you buy bags of chalky stuff (it is a fundraiser for the temple) and at a certain time everyone throws their chalk. The chalk was sold out, so we just ran through other peoples chalk. It was so great!!!!! My hair is still pink ( a little embarrassing going to work with pink hair). We had a blast! We got to feed llamas and weird minuture cows with hump backs (maybe they are part camel?).

BYU Rugby

Ben has a few BYU rugby friends, so we went to cheer them on! It was a super cold night, but we braved the weather and all sat close to keep warm. We won 66 to 20 against the University of Utah. BYU is number two in the nation behind UC Berkley (imagine that- GO CAL). We had fun watching a game we really knew/know nothing about, but it was exciting none the less. The other guy in the picture is Ben's roommate Bryan- we had fun singing the songs that were being played over the loud speaker!

Ninja Strike

Ben's friend Grant turned 23 the other day, we couldn't just give him a card like normal people, we had to put on our ninja attire, make shyurkens (chinese paper stars to attack with), and blitz his birthday party in progress. Ben was the lead ninja and led the group of 5 of us into mortal combat. We survived and so did the birthday boy. Earlier that day Ben taught me how to fold the paper stars, and I got a little too into it and could not stop my hands from folding. I'm now a professional and was sure to make one for each of my roommates. We stayed in our ninja gear for the dollar movie- yes we looked silly, and no we did not throw any stars at the ticket master.

How can I have some more if I haven't had any?

Like and good kid- we all remember those quotable moments from Sandlot. FOORREEVVEERR. Well last friday it was date night with the Apkens and Stephen and his friend Amy. We made 'smores up in the Canyon and enjoyed the neighboring asian group who played great music for us to dance to. The other highlight of the night was a group who were litterally practicing their lightsaber skills. Ben thought it would be funny to put a blanket over my head and pretend to be a Star Wars character, I did so and walked up to the practicing Jedi. They tapped me with their lightsaber (on accident I think) and didn't even acknowledge I was there. They were dead serious about their practice. It was hilarious!

she is adorable

Mackenzie makes the cutest faces.
